Singles use online dating sites for gratification. It doesn't have to be instant, but people don't want to wait weeks, or even months to speak to you on the phone or meet you on a date. If you take too long, someone else will take your place. I think in general, you should call a potential date within 10 days of beginning to message them. Anything longer is just drawing things out too long. Have you ever heard the phrase "strike while the iron is hot"? It applies here as well.
4. Online relationships can also suffer when there is a sense of embarrassment about the way the two of you met. If either of you feel this way, just say you met through a friend. No one needs to know that friend is actually your laptop. But currently, online dating is so common, that this should no longer be an issue.
5. The fifth and final reason that online dating relationships suffer is a lack of communication. This relates to all relationships, not just ones created online. The more transparent you are in what is bothering you, and what you are looking for, the more success you will have. This relates to being honest overall and being honest as to what it is you're looking for. Honesty at every stage is crucial.
